A self portrait of sorts.I tried to think about this as a challenge to show our personalities with what we collect and what our interests are, because that tells more about us than even what we look like. These are some of the elements in my life that make up who I am or have been through the years. Taken in our home library. Please view large, and comment if you would...
"I tried to think about this as a challenge to show our personalities"
Hi, this is very interesing in my opinion, the idea was risky but I think you made it work At first it's just a big chaotic mess, but after a while I catched myself on analizing every detail. And that's important - to make a photo that will stop someone for a while, also I started to wonder about a person that gathers all this stuff and his personality and that was your objective I think?
But I have some buts I don't like that you used flash what is visible on the pot, you are also visible I think while making a photo Also I think that the depth of field is not used correctly and there is a lack of one very sharp point. These are just suggestions, I'm an amatour so I can be wrong.
Overall it's an interesting photo with a story in it
Thanks for your comment, and your english is fine. I have to say you looked a lot closer that most people! (even me, probably) for which I am flattered. I appreciate the time and your insights. Just to clear up some of the issues you had though, I didn't use a flash, the "flash" you see is the reflection of a window, the source of my natural light. As fo me being visible in the pot, I honestly didn't think anyone would notice, I took a chance As for the D.O.F. I wanted to keep everthing as sharp as I could so that all items could be seen clearly, it was a choice and while I can see your point and normally would agree with you for this shot thought it worked for my purpose.
Thanks again for the comments and you are welcome to comment on anything in my gallery at anytime! Hope you have a wonderful day!
