Spring is Here...well almost

Wed Mar 25, 2015, 5:35 AM

I am still struggling to be positive. I know that we had some warmer days and that was nice. The snow is gone and both our vehicles are running. The freezer that had our stockpiled meat had gotten unplugged, but luckily we got the meat before it went bad so we saved that.
Work still continues to be slow, but I did manage to almost get my hours in this past week, so that is at least a plus. I wish that our budget wasn't so tight because I could enjoy the extra time off. I am very lazy on my days off, something that is at this point more of a habit than anything else I think. I need to start approaching my mornings off a little different, but I think with warmer weather that maybe changing habits will prove to be easier.
On the good side of things this past week we took some of the money we don't have and splurged a little bit. We had the opportunity to go see Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window on the big screen at a local, brand new state of the art cinema. It was such a great experience and I hope that  there will be opportunities in the future to see more movies like this at that venue. I used to feel like I was a movie junky, although realistically not so much in the last few years. I do still enjoy going to the movies, but really at this point would be happy seeing some of the older movies that I never got a chance to see.
What about any of you folks out there, if you could see one film in the theater what would it be? I have a lot that I want to see, Double Indemnity, Laura, Maltese Falcon, Scarlet Street and Detour are some. Let me know what you would like to see. I really would be interested.
Now for this weeks features, I have decided to continue doing recently found pieces that have captured my attention. So enjoy!!! Oh, and I hope everyone had a great St. Paddy's Day and are headed for a good spring.

It's been an interesting journey to get to this point in life...
I received a degree in art many years ago and love photography, I also enjoy painting, drawing, and printing when I can get the chance. I have a library full of books that just are waiting to be read or reread. I enjoy movies (when I can stay awake for them). While I enjoy many different genres, film noir is by far my favorite. I tend not to be a snob about my catagorization of the genre, and will readily include neo-noirs into the list.
I have been told that I have a bad attitude. I don't think that's true, but who am I to say. I do tend to be anti-social. It is something that I used to try to work on but now am learning to embrace it. I do try to be friendly with my neighbors and the those I have to work with. I find that, aside from some fellow deviants, I don't have much to say to others.
My wonderful wife is also an artist, please visit her gallery here you can also see my daughters work here cat-like-thief-182.deviantart.….

I share my home with 3 cats and a sometime stray who comes in to eat and nap.
